| Author | Topic: after a week no positive sign yet |
| Sara 07-29-2002 09:20 PM | Today is the end of the seventh day that I have been strictly following the sample diet. ...Except for two things. I have not been able to eat the raw egg yolk or the raw fish. I know from past breakouts that eggs have a seriously bad effect on my acne. For the first few days of this diet, I gave the fresh raw egg yolk a try, and the old breakouts came back like they haven't in a while. Usually I just breakout in small pimples all over my face. When I ate the egg yolk, however, I brokeout in huge bumps that took three days to go away. And as for the raw fish....I bought some fresh raw tuna, took one bite of it and almost choked it was so disgusting. Is there anything that I can do to it to make it taste better? I keep rereading all the testimonies and it seems like everyone has had amazing results. I am getting discouraged because I have been doing it for a week and haven't seen any positive sign that the diet is helping. I am twenty years old and have had acne for six years. Its hard when with every new breakout I'm left with bright red marks where the disgusting pimple had lived. Anything you can tell me or words of advice would be greatly appreciated. |
| SK2RF2CE 07-29-2002 11:56 PM | Hey Sara. All I can say is hang in there. I know this diet will work for you if you just give it some more time. I've only been on this diet for like 2 days with only minimal improvement. But I know this will work for me and it will for you too. I dont like the eggs either, they give me stomach pains thats why i plan to eat only one omega egg a day. Hey Wai if u read this can u tell me if spirulina is okay? Cuz the reason u tell us to eat raw fish and egg is cuz of B12 right? Well spirulina has loads of b12. and it has chloryphyll, vitamin A, other B vitamins, calcium, GLA. I use to take it a while back and it did clear me up somewhat until i ran out. Well jus wanted to know if i can use this to replace the raw eggs and fish. aiite thanks |

If so, do you use a blender? Do you buy juices? quote:That does not mean anything. For the first few days of the diet you cannot expect an improvement, and you may even break out more heavily than before. The issue is whether you still break out after 2 weeks, THAT is what the sample diet is about. Hang on in there; only after 2 weeks of dieting strictly, you know whether the diet works for you too. Please include the RAW egg yolks in your diet, they will NOT make you break out. If you keep on breaking out anyway, it is not the raw eggs, but then the diet simply does not work for you. The fresh raw egg yolks are quite important to be able to maintain the diet; the good cholesterol inhibits your appetite for 'bad' foods. quote:No, I'm sorry. When you have been on the diet long enough, you will probably start to like it anyway, so maybe you can retry after a month or so. In the meanwhile you then need to rely on the fresh raw egg yolks. You can add them to fresh orange juice for example; it makes the juice taste creamy and a bit vanilla like. quote:Most people only start seeing results after the first week, so hang in there for one more week!!! |
| Wai 07-31-2002 12:11 PM | SK2RF2CE,quote:When that happens, the egg is not fresh enough. Please read these guidelines to be able to check freshness of eggs. quote:Spirulina contains B12 from algae, right? This B12 seems to be non-bioavailable for humans, which means that you cannot utilize it as vitamin B12. THIS B12 / SPIRULINA ISSUE LED TO A BIT OF DISCUSSION, WORTH A NEW THREAD The nutrient contents of egg yolks are higher than that of any other food in the world. Check out the nutrient contents of egg yolk and the comparison of egg yolk contents with that of other high-nutrient foods. You don't just need the fish / egg yolks for the vitamin B12, but also for the good cholesterol (which inhibits your cravings for 'bad' foods) and other nutrients; animal food nutrient contents are perfectly complementary to those of fruits. Spirulina is not. |
| Sara 07-31-2002 05:45 PM | Thanks Wai. I'm definitely going to stick to the sample diet for the full two weeks. I don't want to give up without giving it the proper chance. I'll let you know how it goes. |
| bk 08-02-2002 10:36 PM | quote:Well, perhaps. First I'd suggest trying different varities of fish, like salmon. You might like it better. As an alternative, take note that many Japanese restraunts serve soy sauce, wasabi, and shredded daikon (white radish) with their sashimi. Now, you can read of course on waisays.com and family that the above can be not so good for you and/or your acne (soy sauce contains wheat, and is usually cooked --- but look for a brand called Nama Shoyu for a raw form; wasabi is spicy; and daikon is a vegetable). But, if you find you just cannot eat raw fish, then perhaps the negatives of the above are outweighed by the benifiets of eating raw fish. I'm not sure though. |
