| PhiVan 03-08-2003 10:59 PM | Wai, help me out: just how bad are roasted nuts? They have relatively low protein contents. I have a hard time digesting raw nuts, so I tried eating some nut butter. And I got constipated and my acne came back. I'm going to stop eating them for now and eat avocados instead. Can you eat too many avocados? I eat like 6-7 of them a day ![]() |
| PhiVan 03-09-2003 02:59 AM | Great now I feel even worse, check out what I've found online about roasted nut: (nuts)...when they have been roasted, the oils in them become hydrogenated. What difference a little cooking can make! |
| engesongwok 03-09-2003 03:20 PM | Your link didn't post. I would be interested in reading that claim. I always thought that hydrogenation required the use of a nickel catalyst and free hydrogen. (how can you HYDROGENate something without adding additional hydrogen? I would also add that this also cooks the oil at high temps) http://waltonfeed.com/omega/hydro.html http://www.ucc.ie/ucc/depts/chem/dolchem/html/elem/elem028.html |
| Wai 03-12-2003 01:23 PM | quote:how bad? VERY bad, because roasting happens at high temp roasted nuts can easily cause acne (and constipation) |
| PhiVan 05-15-2003 01:08 PM | so it it better to avoid eating nuts altogether if i can't find raw nuts, instead of eating cooked nuts? i will try eating raw fish today.... |
