| Author | Topic: Macadamia Nut Source? |
| Lewis 01-17-2003 10:47 AM | What is a good source for in-shell raw macadamia nuts? I went to a couple of web sites and they said they "oven dried" and "dried" their nuts. I'm assuming macadamia nuts can be gotten in the shell that have not gone through this process -- yes? Thank you in advance for your reply... |
| Ashtek 01-17-2003 11:08 AM | g'day mate. check out rawfood.com, their actual catologe advertises "raw" macadamia nuts in the shell for $4.50 per pound. i'd imagine if David Wolfe advocates for these particular nuts, they must surely be raw. if you have any doubts, simply give the nice ladies a ring down at natures first law in sunny san diego and ask them if the macadamias are subject to any heat? peace.love.unity.respect. ![]() |

| Wai 02-19-2003 12:38 PM | Have you read Ashtek's response? Also, Taylor recommended this site, http://www.sunorganic.com , for in shell macadamia nuts |
| jewel 05-23-2003 07:54 PM | Dear Wai and RRM, I have also been looking for raw macadamia nuts in the shell. The above mentioned sources sell macadamia nuts which have been dried to give them a crispy texture. This drying process brings them to about 95 degrees fahrenheit. Please let me know this is acceptable for your diet. Thank you. Your disciple, Diamond |
| Wai 05-24-2003 08:13 AM | dear Diamond, ehrrr, 95 degrees fahrenheit is... ah, its 35 degrees celcius, yes, that is acceptable! though it would be even better if they were not dried at all; does anybody know a better source? |
