| rospy007 12-09-2002 09:23 AM | Is one tablespoon of olive oil enough after 2 pounds or fruit or should I have 2 spoonfuls of oil? when should I weigh my fruit before I peel and core it? |
| Wai 12-11-2002 03:11 PM | It is better not to eat 2 pounds of fruit in one meal, but eat more small meals of fruit instead. And, then, with every meal, you should consume some fat. You don't need to be so precise about weighing, since it is fundamentally just about eating enough. Are you losing weight while you don't want to? |
| rospy007 12-11-2002 09:19 PM | Ok, I won't eat two pounds at one time any more thanks for telling me and I am losing weight but I want to very badly. Also, I keep breaking out, do you think it is due to me losing weight? I have 3 questions that you may have overlooked in a previous thread. 1. Why not the pineapple for the kids? 2. How much protein does a child need per day? 3. If I send a private message using this board would you or Wai have time to answer it. Thank you, Emily K. |
| bk 12-12-2002 01:12 AM | I'll see if I can answer like Wai/RRM would... (they might have corrections)quote:Perhaps; it depends on what kind of weight you're losing. If you're losing muscle weight, due to having insufficient energy, then that process can create acne. The ``right'' way to lose weight is to consume sufficient amounts of food (of all compositions --- sugars, fats, protein, etc.) and let your body proceed to your set-point weight in a healthy manner. But, are you following the diet strictly? And if so, for how long? It can take 2+ weeks before breakouts stop. quote:I think RRM suggested that because sometimes even when blended it can still have a stringy texture which some people might not like. It's also quite a strong fruit. That's just my guess though... quote:You can see the FDA/JSNFS recommendations in the nutrient calculator. From what I understand the actual amount depends on the quality of the protein. I found the nutrient calculator very useful in balancing my diet. quote:I'll save that for Wai or RRM. ;-) Hope that helps, Brian |
| Wai 12-12-2002 05:54 AM | Thank you for answering these questions Brian! I agree with your answers. Rospy007, to answer your last question: I'm sorry, but we have no time to answer private questions, that is why we created this board in the first place; by answering a question, not only the person who asks the question, but also other people (the readers) can learn from that same questions, now, or later. Answering private questions is far less effective, and we have so little time... We need to use that time most effectively. I hope you understand. PS: are you sticking to all the sample diet rules 'religiously'? (ehrr, big meals may affect your blood sugar level too much, for example) |
| rospy007 12-12-2002 11:56 PM | quote:I was asking about fat after 2 pounds of fruit because my husband ate that much at one time and I wanted to give him enough fat. I myself have not eaten that much.I have done the diet 'religiously'though. I want to get rid of my acne more then any thing. I eat when I get hungry, fruits and nuts or egg yoke in freshly squeezed oranges and I have had up to 2oz of raw salmon. But I'v only been on the diet for 12 days maybe that is not enough time for me. I also seem to break out when I'm under stress. I think I read somewhere that stress can cause acne is there any thing you can do for stress related acne |
| Wai 12-13-2002 06:30 AM | Yes, stress can certainly cause acne. I will explain here: link |
