| PhiVan 05-27-2003 11:58 AM | I was wondernig if eating dirty protein causes water retention, even if that foods is sodium-free? ![]() |
| Wai 05-29-2003 01:23 PM | wow, PhiVan, this issue is extensively documented in my book... |
| PhiVan 05-29-2003 08:21 PM | Okay, I've reread the book, but my real question is that how come the people who on really low-carb diets tend to lose water? how does that come about because all they eat are dirty proteins ![]() |

If your glucose levels are too low, less water is retained (unless the breakdown of muscle protein for energy has agreater impact). Too low glucose levels are bad for your health, and can cause diabetes, for example. Consuming high levels of bad protein all the time, may not result in CONSTANT water retention in the skin (because the bad protein in the blood may distract water from the skin), but will certainly lead to lots of water retention during the night and in the morning. For acne sufferers, incidentally retaining too much water is already a great culprit regarding acne. RRM |
