| john 01-30-2003 04:37 PM | Since wheat has opioid peptides that leave one constipated are there other grains that don't have the peptides to affect bowels? Does rice? What about rye? Or oatmeal? I'm trying to determine how my diet can be expanded into grains without some constipation, or at least less constipation than wheat gives. Thanks. |

All cooked foods contain constipating beta-carbolines; the amount depending on the amount of protein these foods contain (and the heat applied) You can only experiment to find out exactly how much beta-carbolines and opioid peptides your bowels can cope with (and from what source) without becoming constipated... |
