| kathitep80 11-17-2002 06:45 PM | I think i read that white is better than wheat/whole grain/or organic wheat bread if you are going to eat grains as a munch food, is this correct? THANK YOU! |
| RRM 11-18-2002 02:59 PM | They contain about as much 'dirty' protein, but the reason why the white bread is advised instead of the whole meal bread, is because of the fiber contents; 3.2% versus 7.4%. (not because of acne) Bread contains both uppers (fiber) and downers (opioid peptides) for your bowels. Ingesting both can severely impair the functioning of your bowels, causing cramps / bowelpains. So, it is better to limit the intake of fiber when occasionally ingesting opioid peptides (from any wheat bread), and that is why it is less harmful (for your bowels) to consume white bread instead of whole meal / organic wheat bread. | Auron 01-20-2003 02:59 PM | well in percentages I'm not sure but one piece white bread 1 gram protein and one of the 12 grains I picked up had 8 grams per slice! |
| Wai 01-20-2003 03:29 PM | for fair comparisons, you need to compare percentages (a slice of whole meal bread will fill you up much more than a slice of white bread) Do you have a scale? the higher protein content is because it weighs much more! (all those whole grains), so, no wonder it contains much more protein... Just as 100 gram salmon contains more protein than 50 gram tuna, but tuna contains more protein than salmon (in percentages)... |
| Auron 01-21-2003 03:27 PM | yeah I suppose that's right right white bread doesn't weigh hardly anything. |
