I've heard that chiquita bananas are "washed" in toxic solutions of pesticides and stuff and that the peel doesn't protect the fruit inside from these poisonous substances...we ingest lots of bad stuff if we eat those bananas.
true?

And then there is the issue of the poor people who collect them, that they are constantly breathing the toxic pesticide fumes, hardly if at all paid etc...how is it?

Should we buy organic bananas instead of big names like chiquita/consul/rico?
Are there less pesticides involved in the "processing" of the organic bananas?
I have even heard that organic bananas contain a lot more nutrients, too.
Do you avoid chiquita?

it DOES protect, but exactly how much, that is the question... maybe the FDA has some info about that?
scientific studies? (PubMed?)

we need bananas that are quaranteed not sprayed all over, not picked too green, and not by exploited people...
but whar bananas are that?

it is claimed so, but maybe not always true

the bananas that contain the most nutrients are the bananas that are not picked too early, and have perfectly ripened, and taste the best...
