| Panda 08-12-2002 12:18 PM | Also, it is okay to refrigerate dried fruit right? It says "Best if refrigerated after opening" on the package so I guess you have to. |

Of course, in many countries / states there is no possibility to store it in any other 'cool and dry, dark place', but if you can, please do so; the fridge temp is too low. The dried fruits come in special carton boxes if you by them by the box. (which is also cheaper) These carton boxes, with special 'wall paper', are perfect to keep them in for over a year. (I even kept a box of dried figs for 3 years, and they were still perfect, and even much sweeter, because all the acids had been converted into sugars) But if you buy dried fruits in smaller quantities, they come in plastic or something similar. And you cannot properly store dried fruits in plastic, for a longer period of time. If it is not too warm, you can simply store then in your kitchen cabinet. |
