I know that you said it is fine as long as it does not have added salt, but are there any negative effects of vinegar's acidity at all? Does it affect the digestion of other foods eaten with it? Is raw apple cider vinegar a better choice than balsamic/wine vinegar or does it not make a difference which type?

The acids that are in vinegar, are composed in the body also. What is essential, are the amounts of acids relative to other foods. If you only use vinegar to add some taste to your salad, there is absolutely nothing wrong with vinegar. If you, however, drink vinegar as a kind of medicin, as some people do, that may have adverse effects, yes.

Yes, it does matter; hdoes it contain herbs/spices? any other additives?
Raw apple cider vinegar sounds perfect.
