| zubizo 08-25-2002 07:53 AM | On day 3, diet going well, a couple of new pimples on day 2, but thats all. I would just like to know, can you eat uncooked broccoli and radishes? thanx |
| Wai 08-26-2002 12:38 AM | You can, but I would advice not to do so. The radishes are okay, but the broccoli contains a too high level of enzym inhibitors, which inhibit your digestion. (uptake of nutrients, and cause gasses) |
| Anonymous 09-23-2002 12:27 PM | MISS WAI, YOU SAID SPINACH IS NOT GOOD RIGHT? WHAT ABOUT BROCCOLI? ARE THERE ANY OTHER VEGETABLES THAT I SHOULD AVOID IN MY SALADS? |
| Wai 09-23-2002 12:29 PM | quote:Broccoli should not be consumed raw either; it cannot be digested perfectly and supplies you with too little energy. quote:you should avoid ALL vegetables. Tomatoes and cucumber are vegetable FRUITS (and perfect). Avocado is a fruit. What vegetables that can be consumed and digested raw perfectly did you have in mind? |
| Anonymous 09-23-2002 06:57 PM | miss wai what about carrots? I put those baby carrots in my salad all tha time. are they okay? |
| Wai 09-24-2002 12:43 PM | Are they absolutely RAW? If so, yes, no problem. |
| AussieShep 09-24-2002 03:38 PM | So no vegetables at all for this 2 week diet except Carrots?? What about steaming brocolli if you say brocolli is not easily digested ? How about Romaine lettuce as oppose to regular ice burg lettuce? |
| Wai 09-25-2002 09:23 AM | quote:you don't need vegetables, because ALL nutrients that are in vegetables, are in fruits too, while most vegetables are hard to digest and supply you with too little energy. quote:steamed brocolli can cause acne... quote:Both can be consumed, but the problem with these is that they supply you with too little energy, while their digestion is not easy. On this diet you NEED nutrional foods. With a normal diet, it is an advantage to consume foods such as lettuce, because it balances a bit with the high-energy foods containing lots of appetite enhancers, but with this diet, they are no good at all, because they can make you undereat (with adverse effects on the blood sugar level), since this diet does not contain any appetite enhancers. |
| AussieShep 09-25-2002 12:18 PM | quote: quote:"too little enery" meaning too little Calories?? Ice burg lettuce I believe has a miniscule to no nutritional value at all where as Romaine lettuce |
| Wai 09-26-2002 05:12 AM | quote:Yes. You NEED the calories while on this diet. On this diet, you need to consume highly nutrional foods only (fats, protein, sugars and cholesterol are the main (macro-) nutrients; others are micro nutrients). Lettuce is definitely not. quote:I think you meant to say that Romaine lettuce is high in vitamin A, right? On this diet, you ABUNDANTLY ingest (pro-) vitamin A. Together with vitamin C, it is the most abundantly present, and certainly not worth focussing on, or even paying attention to. On this diet, you need to focus on the intake of the macro nutrients, and on whether your diet lacks any other nutrient; submit your version of the diet to our nutrient calculator. |
| Ryan 01-09-2003 07:55 AM | is it ok to eat watercress, spinach, and different types of leaves ( raw of course ) rather than just normal lettuce?? |
| Wai 01-09-2003 08:05 AM | quote:you don't need any of these. In some of us they may impair your digestion too much, but for others they may pose no problem. For all of us they contain too little energy, which makes maintaining the diet harder. Lettuce is the least hard to digest properly. Raw spinach is the hardest to digest. If you want them, i would rather use them to add flavor than to eat them as real food. BUT: As long as you are on the sample diet, you cannot eat them. Only AFTER the sample diet you can start experimenting with eating them. |
