| Azure 09-15-2002 07:22 PM | Miss Wai, I just want to make sure that eating large quantities of dried fruits is ok while on the two week sample diet. I just finished a course of Accutane and if I get one more god damned pimple, I gonna go nuts. By the way, I started your diet this morning and I feel more enegry and have a general sense of well-being, as of now. Thanks. |

(more expensive) Instead of whole fresh fruits, you can also drink juices (from the juice extractor, not from the blender). That is also an easy and effective way to consume your food. quote:Please keep us updated about how you are doing with the diet, okay? |
| Taylor 09-18-2002 01:52 PM | You mentioned eating dried fruits. I know sundried fruits are good to eat but at what temperature is okay to dehydrate fruits? |
| Wai 09-19-2002 02:38 AM | The relatively low temperatures that you've mentioned before, 110 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit, seems harmless to me. |
| Ryan 09-25-2002 08:40 AM | Wai... Im having a lil trouble in regards to dried fruit.....how do i know its really dried and not sun dried? In new Zealand they have these big bins in the supermarket and you get them out of there. but it doesnt say whether it has been sun dried or dried. I even tried a package of dried apricot. It doesnt say it has been sun dried on the packet....does that mean to say its dried in an oven? Im also eating dried dates, but im nopt even sure, maybe they have been sun dried. Is there some way of telling if they arent sun dried? Also is it ok to use tea tree oil on the white heads or not? Im still getting white heads and ive been on the diet for over 6 days.....Thanks again Wai. Ryan |
| Wai 09-25-2002 08:54 AM | quote:If it doesn't say on the package, you need to know what the manufacturer is. Then you can call or email them with your question: "at what temperature are the fruits dried?" Maybe the manufacturer has a website where it is all explained. There are many different ways to treat fruits (see halfway the page); at different temperatures, and with the aid of different substances (sulfur dioxide or meta bisulfate to 'maintain the color', which is unnecessary). You need to know how your dried fruits have been prepared, and at what temperature exactly. quote:No, but they might have been air dried at too high a temperature or even dried by frying. So, you need to know first. quote:No, there are no clear signs. quote:I guess that does no harm. quote:In some it takes a bit longer than in others, but within 2 weeks the results will be clear. What exactly are you eating? (can you make a list?) |
| Ryan 09-26-2002 01:24 AM | Hey Wai Here is a list of what i usually eat : Breaksfast: 1 apple, 2 bananas, kiwifruits, rock melon. snacks: dried dates and apricaots, ( unsure as to if are sundried or dried) bannanas, fresh pressed Orange juice with oil and honey. | lbean 10-08-2002 12:46 AM | can anyone tell me that sun dried fruits that are claimed to be unsulphured and unfumigated are the kind that have absolutely no heating or freezing process at anytime. i am going on a 2 weeks trip to asia and i'm trying to prepare all my food situation so that i can stick to this diet as much as i can, any suggestions? |
| Wai 10-08-2002 12:49 AM | Ryan, your message was cut off, so what was missing? Maybe you can eliminate the dried fruits from your diet, because they may be causing new acne if dried at a too high temperature. Once you are clear, you can add them back into your diet to see whether they are the culprit, or not. |
| Wai 10-08-2002 12:52 AM | quote:Yes, they are safe! |
