| jay_1 04-20-2003 04:47 PM | I have been on the diet for about a week and three days. I'm starting to get those sandy bumps that some people have talked about, they are forming on my forehead and the upper part of my nose area. What are other peoples experience with these bumps? Did they eventually go away. Was it something you ate? I invite anyone to respond. Thank you! |
| Wai 04-25-2003 05:12 AM | they eventually always go away, but we don't know what the cause is, yet... some need to stop eating nuts to eliminate them, while this is not the case in others others just seemed to react adversely to applying specific oil to their face and yet others didn't change a thing, but the sandy bumps did go away |
| she 04-28-2003 06:23 AM | I've started to get sandy bumps too... find it quite annoying. Hopefully when someone find out what it is. They can tell me how to prevent them. They don't seem to mature, but my forehead looks a little red and bumpy. A little on my nose as well. Feels like I'm allergic to something... Well, I'm going to stop eating nuts and dried fruits for a couple of days. See if things will improve. Also, I've been on this diet for only one week and I'm starting to get bored of fruits already... ![]() |
| jay_1 04-29-2003 12:14 AM | Those sandy bumps seem to be going away now. My nose is finally clear of them. My forehead, about 85% clear of them. In total, I had them for a couple of weeks, even though I wasn't eating any brazil nuts. I think it was all those years of using Proactiv coming out of my skin. It is so nice to be off of pills and topicals for once. "She," give it some time. Were you using topicals such as Proactiv prior to going onto this diet? The areas your getting the bumps, were they areas that were prone to acne before? |
| she 04-29-2003 08:23 AM | Hi Jay, Yes. Those places were prone to pimples before, but that was 4 months ago. I was on medication for several weeks during Christmas (some antibiotics, benzyl peroxide cream and this other cream my dermatologists prescribed) and my pimples eventually went away. After my pimples cleared up, I stopped the medication immediately(around in January)since my skin was getting so dry and flaky... terrible scene. Never would put my healthy skin through something like that if it wasn't for those horrible spots. Since then, the pimples around that area (mainly forehead) would come and go, some never came back. But after I started the Wai's diet, I can see the pimples forming again... even areas where I haven't had pimples for a long time. I don't know if I can classify them as "pimples". They are definitely bumpy, red... no puss and lots of them. Many on my forehead and I'm beginning to see a little on my cheeks too. It does worry me. I thought I've pretty much recovered and now the whole "acne" crisis seems to have returned my life. But thanks for sharing with me your experience. I do hope they will go eventually go as well. And last thing, if Wai comes across this post: >>> Does Selemium and Copper relate to skin/acne in any way? |
| jay_1 04-29-2003 09:59 PM | She, I got new pimples while on this diet as well. It really started to make me nervous, I even had doubts on continuing the diet. But I knew that there was no turning back. If I had stopped, I would'nt known if the diet works for me or not. I think your at the point where I was several weeks ago. Nervous, depressed, "what if it doesnt work?" "Why am I getting new pimples?" Hang in there. Your skin will calm down soon, all those impurities need to come out sometime. Just maintain a STRICT diet, any little cheating does result in more pimples. How are you washing your face? |
