| Giedre 03-01-2003 07:21 PM | Wai, how often should I eat on your diet? I have noticed that I become hungry after about half an hour (no matter how much I eat), is that normal? |
| Wai 03-04-2003 02:07 PM | quote:well, the blood sugar level will always go down after about half an hour, regardless of the amount eaten, so it is best to take a zip from some juice then, and you can go on for half an hour more... Consuming a large meal, the extra energy goes into glycogen depots (or even fat depots, if the meal is really big, which is hard on a raw food diet), and the blood sugar level will go a bit down anyway. That is why it is best to eat only very small meals very regularly, or even only zip from your juices all day, every half hour... Following a standard / normal diet, the same happens, but then people 'just feel tired' not realizing that their blood sugar goes down, and not feeling hungry because all the spare energy depots are filled up... How one feels after a large meal, is also individually different, depending on the effectiveness of the re-mobilisation of stored energy |
| Giedre 03-08-2003 01:03 PM | Dear Wai, right now I am off your diet, mainly because I used to feel very tired, depressed, always hungry on your diet and even gained some bodyfat (overeating on fruit). I am trying to find out why it all happened. Now I think that my mistake was trying to eat only 3 meals a day with several hours in between. Could that be the cause of my heavy overeating on fruits, honey and nuts? Would eating every half an hour solve my problems? How come other people on your diet feel satisfied for several hours after eating fruit in combination with fat? Thanks |
| Wai 03-12-2003 01:31 PM | quote:absolutely, i always warn against this quote:that is one of the conditions, indeed quote:not several hours consuming nothing... |
| blahblah 05-08-2003 07:19 AM | i'm 17 and weigh 114 pounds.... how many times a day should i eat and how much should i eat? please help... i wanna get started immediately! thanks.... |
| Wai 05-08-2003 07:27 AM | you will need to eat as often as you can it is best to eat small bites constantly, and/or zip from juices all day with a normal diet, a few meals a day will suffice, but with this diet, you will need to learn to eat according to your energy requirements, as you will no longer be eating large meals a good guideline is to ingest some energy every half hour... (every half hour while you are awake ) |
| banned 05-16-2003 11:32 AM | I get about 6 and a half hours of sleep everyday, hence I stay up 17 and a half hours. Divided by 8 meals a day, I should have a "meal" every 2 hours and 11.25 minutes. What composes a meal? Should I eat an orange and a bit of lettuce covered in olive oil every 2 hours? I only packed 3 oranges and 1 tomato in my lunch today. Should I start buying like 100 pound bags of oranges and lettuce with bottles of olive oil? I will do it, but I would like some advice first. |
| Wai 05-16-2003 11:38 AM | besides those 8 meals, you should ingest energy in between as well; about every half an hour i cant advice you on exactly how much you need to eat, because that is individually very different no matter what amount i would advice, it would be too little and/or too much most of the time the only way to make sure whether you are ingesting enough energy, is by your weight; if you lose weight, you are undereating, and then you need to eat more energy / often so, closely monitor your weight on a weekly basis |
| jay_1 05-27-2003 05:42 PM | Wai, I've noticed that I feel quite foggy and I find it hard to keep my eyes open, they feel a little strained. I eat little meals all day and I always balance my sugars with fat. Regardless, I still find it hard to concentrate and my eyes feel very uncomfortable. I get proper rest always also. I remember someone else posting something similar, but I can't find it on the board. I dont think that it is energy related because I don't feel weak or hungry. I just feel foggy and little tired. Is this because I don't include the cucumber, tomato, and olive oil salad into my diet? I'm quite confused and I hate to bother you with this. |
| Amon 05-28-2003 11:39 AM | Dear Wai, I would also like to ask about how much food I should be consuming, I am 28,6',160, at work I am fairly active lots of running. I also enjoy jogging. The nutritional calculator thing makes no sense to me at all, I must be an idiot. I dont understand it. There is that general rule to eat 1 gram of fat for every 2 grams of sugar. However, I am clueless as to how many grams of sugar are in a piece of fruit or how many grams of fat are in the oil covered salad stuff. This is VERY confusing and I want to do this right please help. How many grams of sugar are in an apple? banana? orange? melon? strawberry? HOw many grams of fat are in an avacodoe? Brazil nuts? And about how much protein do I need to be consuming? I dont mind the raw fish, except that It is expensive, I am just now trying to consume a raw egg yolk (bleck) Also is it ok to drink orange juice 100% pure oj from tropicana, not from concentrate? I bought a juicer but I simply cant imagine buying bushels of fruit to make juice. I am poor. That would not be an option. |
| jay_1 05-28-2003 02:08 PM | quote:I think this might help you understand how to use the nutrient calculator a little more. quote:If you can't afford the fish, eat the eggs, they are loaded with good vitamins as well, you need to consume at least 5 a day. quote:Sorry, according to the diet, it is not O.K. to drink this. Store bought juices contain preservatives and are pasteurized which can cause acne. For more information on this topic check this out. |
| Wai 05-29-2003 12:35 PM | thank you Jay!quote:hmm, that can be lots of thins, so it may be wise to post your complete diet here so that i can take a look at it (have you submitted it to the nutrient calculator?) are you consuming sufficient cholesterol? (from animal food) quote:arent feeling weak and feeling tired related? the foggyness and tiredness may very well relate to a lack of energy... (but it may be something else as well) quote:no, you do consume olive oil, right (or another oil) quote:hey, that is where this board is for! ![]() |
| jay_1 05-31-2003 11:36 AM | I'm sorry, I think it's a my allergies. I talked to several other people and they were experiencing the same symptoms. quote:I'm sorry I should have been more specific. When I sit down watch tv or similar I feel that I could just fall asleep. However, when I'm up, I could run a marathon. I think that maybe allergies were high the past couple of weeks, for now I feel much better. I need to drink a little more water though and I will raise my egg intake to 5 instead of the usual 4. Thanks again darlin. |
