Wai, I have noticed that when I eat a lot of fruit and forget to balance it with good fats, I get this kind of soreness/pain in my muscles (especially in my shoulders and biceps). I get that SAME FEELING when I drink alcohol sometimes. I used 2 think that it was food allergies or something. But now I'm thinking that it is related 2 sugar/glucose intake. What r your thoughts on this? I'd b interested 2 know... It's been happening 1st thing every morning if I eat a bunch of watermelon and don't have avocado first....

I think that you are a bit sensitive to too much fluctuating blood sugar levels...
That happens in some people, and it could eventually have led to diabetes.
Now that you now, you can prevent that. Make sure to ALWAYS consume sufficient fat, and also make sure to always ingest sufficient energy in general; carry some nuts and (ie) dried fruits with you all the time, so that you never get stuck without sufficient energy.

Please listen to your body very carefully; it tries to tell you something, and you better listen!

I have the same, exact experience when I overeat dried fruits (sans sugar and preservatives)!!! It's almost like a searing pain around the shoulders and in the upper arms. I wasn't sure how to describe it and wondered if it was something I was doing outside of the diet, but now that Maria has mentioned it and Wai has explained it, now I know for sure. It's just a little frightening that the too much fluctuating glucose levels can not only cause acne but can be a sign for predisposition to diabetes, which I had a scare of a few years back.

Not taking enough fats for my body may also explain why I still get little whiteheads and small inflammations eventhough I've been strictly on the diet for 13 days now. [Frown] While I should be ecstatic that I'm nearing the 14th day, I also know that I need perhaps another couple of weeks on the diet to be 100% clear.

Wai, for people like me who are sensitive to too much fluctuating glucose levels, do you advise
not taking fruits at all if we don't have any fats on hand? For example, I'm at work right now and I don't have olive oil or any unshelled nuts with me. I do have an apple for when I get hungry. Hold out till I get home to have some olive oil with it? [Confused]

Getting a teeny bit frustrated but still

sunny [Smile]

p.s. thanks for all your help!

Since you are sensitive to too much fluctuating blood sugar levels, it is SURE that this is the cause of some of your acne too: You can only feel those pains if your blood sugar level is not that strictly regulated; and thus this can also lead to acne; in most of us the blood sugar level is more strictly regulated, and thus cannot cause acne.

No.
Consuming too little energy also impairs the insulin system (which leads to diabetes)...

Well, you can easily do something about that!!!
You ALWAYS need to carry nuts with you!
No excuses.

No, that is harmful too. You should always carry some fat food with you. Raw nuts are perfect, but you can also carry a tiny bottle filled with oil with you.

Thx Wai, it's good 2 know that I'm not just a hypochondriac, imagining these pains... I am going 2 b real good about combining fats & sugars.
