| lauren 09-11-2002 11:57 AM | Hi Everyone, This is what I did yesterday - how close is it to correct? Or how far off? breakfast - pineapple and later 2 bananas lunch - chopped walnuts and raisins 2 bananas dinner - salad of tomatoes, cucumber, avocado with olive oil and balsamic vinegar (a no-no?) snacks - scuppernong grapes and Brazil nuts Didn't have any animal protein as I didn't have any on hand. I've read the sample diet several times and think I understand but - could some of you please show me what your typical day looks like - when you are following the diet strictly. Thanks oodles! Lauren |
| Wai 09-11-2002 01:52 PM | quote:The foods are okay (did you buy the nuts in the shell?), but it is not enough! You should not limit yourself to eating only 3 meals plus snacks. with this diet, you need to eat much more often. What you need are: A: All kind of fruits (check out the best fruit combinations) B: Brazil nuts or Macadamia nuts, or other raw nuts (nuts bought in the shell) C: avocado D: a tomato-cucumber salad E: Fresh raw animal food; fresh raw egg yolks or fresh raw fish F: extra virgin (=cold pressed) olive oil, or extra virgin flax seed oil for example. If you are not vegan, the avocado and Brazil nuts are less essential. Please submit YOUR version of the diet (this initial one of yours) to the nutrient calculator to check for nutritional values (yes, you need anaimal food too), and you will see that it didn't supply you with enough energy. The easiest way to absorb sufficient energy, is by drinking juices, with a bit oil and sugar added. quote:Only vinegar with no salt / spices is okay... quote:But you can buy eggs in any city / village... |
| lyn 09-11-2002 03:00 PM | Lauren, Hi there! My typical day of eating. Breakfast: fruit salad consisting of 2 bananas, 1 mango, some kind of berries. then a handful of brazil nuts that i shell. Snack: I juice 4 oranges and then the brazil nuts again Snack #2: 1 banana and a kiwi or nectarine or apple and brazil nuts Lunch: avacado, tomato, cucumber, red onion and basil salad (the basil adds some flavor)with olive oil Snack: more juicing with fat afterwards Sanck: more fruit of any kind with nuts Dinner:sashimi(we live close to a japanese restaurant) then the salad then sometimes more fruit. If not the fish then a few egg yolks -up to 5. Maybe some nuts before bed. somedays i have the much foods because the diet is really working well. today i had dark chocolate (no more than 15 grams of protein)yummy! Some days i don't do the juicing and i can tell i get tired and feel like i'm losing weight. the juicing is key for me to staying on the diet because it gives me energy. Are you still on the strict part of the diet? It took alot of adjusting and struggling for me to do this diet but i'm finally(thank God)making it work and really getting the swing of things and feeling satisfied with it. It is doing wonders for my skin, i'm so pleased. Hang in there you, i wish ya well! |
| Anonymous 09-13-2002 05:23 AM | MRS. WAI, I HAVE CAME UP WITH THIS MENU FOR YOUR SAMPLE DIET FOR MY SELF, DOES IT RECEIVE YOUR APPROVAL? BREAKFAST: OJ-(JUICED NIGHT BEFORE AND REFRIGERATED) HANDFUL OF BRAZIL NUTS W/ RASINS/ BANANA SLICES/ AND APPLE SLICES (fRUIT SALAD) SNACK #1- FRUIT (PEACH/ PLUM) BRAZIL NUTS W/ RASINS BOTTLED WATER SNACK #2- FRUIT (ORANGE/PEACH/GRAPES) BRAZIL NUTS BOTTLED WATER LUNCH - AVOCADO SALAD (LETTUCE/TOMATOE/ CUCUMBER/CARROTS) BOTTLED WATER SNACK #3- FRUIT JUICE (BANANA/STRWBERRIES/SOME OJ) SNACK #4- FRUIT ( UNDECIDED YET) WATER DINNER- RAW EGG YOLK SALAD SNACK #5- FRUIT W/ WATER |
| Wai 09-13-2002 05:43 AM | Seems fine to me; Are the Brazil nuts really raw? (meaning that you bought them in the shell, and have removed the shell yourself) The bottled water, is it low-mineral bottled water? The salad; does it contain any dressing other than vinegar or oil? The fruit juices; "FRUIT JUICE; (BANANA / STRWBERRIES / SOME OJ)", is it from the blender, or a juice extractor? |
| Anonymous 09-13-2002 06:36 AM | MRS. WAI, THE NUTS ARE FROM THE LINK YOU PROVIDED IN YOUR WEBSITE. SHELLED BRAZIL NUTS. I GOT 15LBS FOR ABOUT 38 BUCKS. I WILL BE SURE TO MAKE SURE THE WATER IS LOW MINERAL. THE SALAD WILL HAVE NO DRESSING OR AND PROBABLY NO OIL, BECAUSE PERSONALLY I DO NOT LIKE THAT STUFF, I JUST LIKE THE GREENS AND VEGGIES PURE. AND THE JUICES WILL BE MADE FROM A JUICER(THE ONE THAT THE GUY WITH WHITE HAIR AND EYEBROWS SPONSORS..... JACK SOMETHIN) |
| Wai 09-13-2002 08:18 AM | quote:Did you buy them in the shell? Do you need to remove the shell before you can eat them? quote:What greens? and what veggies exactly? quote:I only know Jack Nicholson That juicer, does it contain a small blade that rotates very fast, cutting all the fruit in tiny pieces? (creating a thick juice) Or is it a juicer that separates the pulp from the (watery) juice? (once you have poored out the juice, does pulp remain in the juicer?) |
| Anonymous 09-13-2002 03:22 PM | Mrs. Wai The nuts are shelled. The greens and veggies will be just pretty much lettuce, tomatoe, carrots, cucumbers.(any other suggestions?) And the juice extractor i think does have the small blade, creating thick juice. I also have the juicer that leaves the pulp.( which one is better recommended). Thanks. |
| Wai 09-14-2002 03:24 PM | quote:"Shelled" normally means: "the shell removed". If that is what you mean to say (that you bought them not containing their shell anymore), then consuming these nuts can cause acne… . quote:I just wanted to make sure that you don't eat cooked vegetables. BTW; cucumber and tomatoes are vegetable FRUITS. (and only lettuce is green )quote:Juices from the one with the blade can cause acne (especially regarding juices containing banana), unlike juices from the juice extractor (the one that leaves the pulp). |
| deb 09-16-2002 09:47 AM | Thanks for the useful info everyone. Wai, you say Lauren isn't eating enough? I don't eat any more than that but I'm not hungry. Should I eat more even when not hungry? Lyn, what kind of chocolate are you talking about? Can you eat Snickers,(etc) as long as there's no more than 15 grams of protein? (I haven't checked Snickers... just using that as an example) |
| lyn 09-16-2002 12:23 PM | Hello Deb, I'm not sure about snickers but i eat (every once in a while) just plain dark chocolate bars.(I know there's better chocolate out there but i buy Hersheys) I know that the milk chocolate has more protein so you can't eat as much of it, ya know... Lyn ![]() |
| Wai 09-16-2002 12:35 PM | quote:Lauren eats kinda 'breakfast-lunch-dinner', which is not good, one should eat much more often; every time that your blood-energy level goes down, you need to eat something. quote:You should eat more often (than 3 meals a day), but not necessarily more. You may not feel hungry when your blood energy level drops; you need to learn to distinguish between these two. I'm not saying you are not eating right, just that what you used to experience as hunger, may not apply to this diet. Try to listen to your body very closely. |
